Life Is Not Fair – But It Is Teachable
Page 3: Privilege vs Effort
One of the hardest truths to accept in life is this:
Effort alone does not decide outcomes.
Where you start from often matters as much as how hard you try.
What is privilege?
Privilege is not always about wealth.
- Access to good education
- Supportive family or mentors
- Connections and exposure
- Early guidance and confidence
These advantages are often invisible.
Why this truth feels uncomfortable
When privilege is ignored:
- Struggle is misunderstood
- Hardworking people feel inadequate
- Success stories become misleading
This creates silent shame.
Lesson #3
Lack of privilege is not a lack of worth.
It simply means the path is steeper.
A healthier perspective
Do not measure your journey against someone else’s starting point.
Measure it against your own progress.
Your effort matters —
especially when the road is harder.
Reflection for today
Ask yourself gently:
“What unseen challenges have I already overcome?”
Acknowledging this builds self-respect.
